There are 8 moon phases and I feel that every witch needs to know them and to know what they look like in the sky.
8 Moon Phases:
New Moon
Waxing Crescent
First Quarter
Waxing Gibbous
Full Moon
Waning Gibbous
Third Quarter
Waning Crescent
The Moon changes every night. Have you ever looked up into the sky and took noticed to how full the moon is but wondered about what type of moon it is when the moon was barely showing well here I hope to teach about these enchanted objects in the sky.
New Moon: In the New Moon Phase you will not be able to see the moon at all.
Waxing Crescent Moon: In the Northern Hemisphere the Waxing Crescent the light will cover starting on the right side of the moon.
First Quarter: This is the half moon.
Waxing Gibbous: This is where the moon is between half moon and full moon phase, the moon is getting bigger.
Full Moon: This phase the moon is completely illuminated.
Waning Gibbous: Its between a half moon and full moon, its also getting smaller.
Third Quarter: We see this moon as a half moon, but it’s the opposite side thats illuminated as in the first quarter.
Waning Crescent: In the Northern Hemisphere, thin crescent light on the left.
The Moon displays these 8 phases, one after the other, each month.
The moon’s cycle is 27 days long so it takes 27 days to orbit the Earth.
Blessed Be,
High Priestess Raven
